Our Founder

Robert Thompson Jr, is a person with lived experience and no stranger to adversity. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica and transitioning to life in the United States, his journey has given him a firsthand understanding of resilience, systemic barriers, and the power of a second chance.
He founded Mission Aid 2020 to give back to the city that raised him. Our work at Mission Aid 2020 is intentionally rooted in Atlanta, with the mission to establish a stable, community-based institution that will serve individuals and strengthen our community for many years to come. Our goal is to ensure that Atlanta has a lasting resource that provides restoration, opportunity, and hope — one person at a time.

We celebrate We exist to bring immediate relief and lasting hope where it's needed most. Our mission is to mobilize resources, volunteers, and partners to serve vulnerable communities through food security, emergency aid, and restoration programs.
Our vision is a world where no neighbor is forgotten in crisis - where practical help restores dignity and opens the door to long-term transformation.

Our Approach
We believe effective aid is both immediate and sustainable. We meet urgent needs first - food, supplies, and emergency support - then stay to build resilience through partnerships with local churches, nonprofits, and community leaders. 100% of designated gifts go directly to program delivery, with transparency and stewardship at every step.
Atlanta is our home base and our launch point. As a diverse, growing hub with both deep need and deep generosity, it's where we learned to serve. From here we coordinate logistics, train volunteers, and respond quickly across the Southeast - while continuing to rebuild families and neighborhoods across metro Atlanta, one survivor at a time.
