Last night, something I've been building toward became official. Mission Aid 2020's founding Board of Directors held its first meeting — all seven directors, present and voting.
We elected our officers: Karen Lake as Secretary and Christopher President as Treasurer, and I will serve as Acting President and Executive Director for our founding year. We adopted our bylaws, set our quarterly meeting schedule for 2027, and got straight to the work.
Now we're raising the startup funds to open our program hub in Southeast Atlanta — a home base for legal navigation, education advancement, workforce development, and housing navigation, with peer Recovery Support at the heart of it. Every program we run is free to the people we serve. What we need is the space, the transportation to get clients where they need to be, and the materials to do it right.
If you believe in second chances, you can be part of this from the very beginning. We fundraise through Zeffy, which means 100% of every gift goes to the mission — no platform fees taken out.

One day at a time, one door at a time.
